Welcome!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog! There have been so many skills, ideas, and tips I have picked up for my life these past few years, I just felt God calling me to introduce them with others. It is hard for me to decide where to start because there is so much I have to share...

My children are both still toddlers, and only a year apart.

They were conceived, unexpectedly, during my college career. My husband and I have been married for three years, and immediately were thrown into pregnancies and babies after saying, "I do." We are Seventh Day Adventists Christians and hold our faith very close to our hearts. I was actually baptized shortly after our wedding while I was pregnant with our first child on Christmas day.

Being young and in love...and in school, we were not quite prepared for the road ahead, but we have learned several valuable lessons. We decided since I was pregnant, I would finish school first. I was able to complete my Bachelor's while being a stay at home mom, and my husband was working full time. We lived off of less than $20,000 a year (gross) which really came down to about $12-1600 a month depending on his hours.

Both of my children went through vegan pregnancies and were breastfed until they were a year old. Our first child used only cloth diapers and was also vegan until she was one, and we found out she had a gluten intolerance. This was when we learned the negative side of gluten all together, and decided as a family to at least avoid it as much as possible. We were gluten free vegans for a short time, but when time is of the essence and your child will not eat-it persuades you to try other options.

My son was born shortly after my daughter's first birthday, and my daughter responded pretty well. His birth was all natural, where I had an epidural with the first. My husband and I renewed our vows later that year, and a few months later I graduated with honors from a state university. We have had our financial issues, but we have never been homeless, without food, or even late to pay our bills.

My daughter is two and she understands shapes, colors, numbers, Spanish, prayer, emotions, her alphabet in both English and Spanish as well as her letter sounds, who Jesus Christ is and about his death and resurrection, can eat with all utensils without a bib (with no mess), uses her potty, makes her bed, cleans her messes, brushes her teeth, apologizes and prays for forgiveness, knows the days of the week, months, etc, and my son is one and can say and sign his alphabet, has a fairly strong vocabulary, counts, cleans his messes, ... well a parent can brag forever I guess-but the point is I did not just know how to teach my children these things. At times it was very frustrating trying to not only figure out how to spend time with my children, but to instill the right values, and ensure they were reaching there milestones.

The purpose of this blog is just to share what I have learned as a mother, wife, christian, student, low-income citizen, and all the other roles I have had to help make the research for my readers easier than it was for me when I was in their shoes. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments!!
